Command block tutorial - Minecraft snake mini-game, commands explained!
I demonstrate a very simple mini-game where you control a snake on a 'video screen' in Minecraft. The snake simulation uses command blocks, entities (like boats), and redstone in clever ways in order to work, and I made it mostly as an illustration of the things you can do with command blocks.
After showing off the game in action, I fly around and explain the various commands I used to make it work - I hope this helps you learn a bit more about commands, and perhaps inspires you to make your own creations!
Rather than give a world download, you can make this yourself by following these steps in a Minecraft 1.8 snapshot:
Create a new world, creative mode, and change the world type to 'superflat' with the custom preset of 'redstone ready', with 'generate structures' turned off.
/give @p command_block
Right click the command block to paste the command from here: http://pastebin.com/VQab52FT
Activate the command block with some redstone
This demonstration was done using Minecraft snapshot 14w08a, and requires a recent 1.8 Minecraft snapshot to work.
The giant command for the command block is found here: http://pastebin.com/VQab52FT
