Commander 2017 is being here and with it comes some unique stories. This supplemental set adds a lot of flavor to Magic: The Gathering and we are here for all of it! Along with some new faces in some rather old creature types, we see a return of some fan favorite characters in the lore of MTG. One of which is in the Wizard deck, the evil human wizard, Mairsil the Pretender. Mairsil comes from Dominaria from a time when wizards and mages were frowned upon. He joined a Conclave of Mages lead by Ith, High Arcanist. There, is lust for power grew, until he created Barl's Cage, trapped and siphoned off Ith's magical prowess. Though eventually defeated, Mairsil kept coming back by linking his soul to a ring then corrupting two wearers.. Lim Dul, the necromancer, and the Planeswalker Jaya Ballard. This evil wizards story is told beautifully on his new card from Commander 2017.
