The Ninja Warriors, arcade conversion by Random Access for the Sales Curve and published by Virgin Mastertronic in 1990.

"IN 1993 to be an individual is to be er...DEAD! The totally evil master-geek (sorry...politician) BANGLER has serious power going down in town. All the Fuzz and Squaddies are his but so is the Underworld. You are MULK, Pal...and as THE totally wicked revolutionary (for 'THE' read 'ONLY') you are gonna build two assassination machines - The Ninja Warriors - and attempt to chill out this Bangler guy with knives, shuriken's and some bad posse hip movement! Six levels, much, of non-stop, furious 2-player oriental upbeat action! Mental eh?"

One of the earliest examples of a walking simulator! Most of the game involves just walking right with the odd turn to knife a bad guy. The C64 version seems to waste a lot of screen real estate even putting the hud in the gameplay area. I get that the game is trying simulate the wide aspect shown over 3 screens on the arcade original. The only music in the game is on the title screen. The musician must have had a special SID revision as it doesn't seem to sound right in either the emulated 6581 or 8580. Similar to Potsworth and Co.

There are 6 levels but only 3 enemy types which doesn't offer much if any variation. Shuriken's can be fired by holding fire and its all too easy to fire them all off. I try to hold on to them for making quick work of the bosses. The can be refilled by killing the hunchback looking enemies.

I don't think i would have wanted to pay more than budget price for this but Overall it does look nice. Just a little boring to play.
