Dragon Ninja arcade conversion developed and published by Image Software in 1988. Also released as Bad Dudes in the US market.

"Bad Dudes vs DragonNinja. The Opponents in your battle for supremacy are four types of Evil Ninja star-throwing Assassins' whose skills are manifold and dangerous. Also out to spoil your day are Acrobatic Women Warriors and vicious Guard Dogs. At the end of each level you must overcome the Ninja Master in order to progress - some examples of these super human villains are: A fire-breathing Fat Man. An Amour Clad Giant and the Green and Gruesome Giant Ninja - who has a disconcerting habit of suddenly multiplying into an army!"

Not much to say about this game. Its a short arcade brawler. The C64 conversion is pretty as expected coming from Imagine Software. It doesn't look to bad and there is a little music to help drive it along including sfx which is a rare thing. The fighting works better than double dragon but its still a little awkward having to hold direction then press the button to execute a move. It's much easier to stay a live in this game and as long as you keep moving and dont allow yourself to get stuck in a pack of enemies, you should get through it. When your energy gets low there is a good chance that the red ninjas will drop a health pickup.

The stages are short but there is no scoring or bonuses at the end of each one. we just move abruptly to the next state as soon as all the enemies are cleared. It can be quite jarring. The game starts to break up if there are a lot of sprites on screen and I often found the red ninja's would just vanish if a pack of blues come on. I do like the moving truck / train levels. It feels somehow different to other brawlers on c64 at this time. Even the screenshots of it on the box draw me into these levels and probably the only reason I bought and played it.

Overall while probably not that accurate to the arcade original, its not a bad game for the C64 and I was happy to have paid the 3.99 for the hit squad release back then.
