So, in the world of troubleshooting, it is best to isolate and try each part of the equation with something else...so, I am going to try using an MSD-2 Dual Floppy Disk Drive with this same commodore 2001 32k Basic 4.0 PET computer...why am I doing this, well, either the disk drive, the 4040 has failed or maybe there is a cable issue, a connection issue, or it is even possible that there is a failure inside the PET...and that is why we try to isolate...to be sure that before we start ripping out chips or heating up the de-soldering iron, that we have the best information to send us in the correct direction to get the best result with the least amount of time spent doing things that will make no difference...
