Complete in Box Plays - Chuck Rock 2
Chuck Rock 2 is a game that Trev and I had and played quite a bit as kids - does it still hold up to the modern test?
In short - absolutely. It's a very nice platformer game - hard, yes - that really mixes gameplay up. The levels are nice and varied, there are a ton of different enemy types, and gameplay never drags. Like most good platformers, it's not a particularly long game, but with platformers and beat-em-ups, you generally want quality over quantity.
The music is great, even considering this is on the Sega Genesis, and the game does some really neat graphical things throughout - each level really feels like it should (heat waves in the lava level, etc).
Overall, I'm glad I came back to Chuck Rock 2. My only complaint would be that the final boss is extremely lame (and out of nowhere - unless you read the manual you really have no idea who or what you're traveling towards). Besides that, Chuck Rock 2 is a very good, underrated platformer. Thanks for watching!
