Complete in Box Plays - Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix - Part 1
4Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix was released on February 21, 2001, as a PS1 exclusive. It was developed by Kronos Digital Entertainment (they also made Fear Effect 1), and published by Eidos. Fear Effect 2 was actually the final game developed by Kronos.
Fear Effect 2 is the prequel to Fear Effect -- it takes place in 2048, two years before the first game. It still has the same extremely unique mixture of FMV backgrounds, action, gunplay, horror elements, and the Fear Meter -- there's just more to love here!
We start out in the underground aqueducts, which I will admit isn't the strongest start to the game. I overall enjoy the level, but there's a lot of mundane backgrounds and backtracking that make the beginning of the game a tougher sell. More soon!
