Rage Racer was released as a PS1 exclusive on May 13, 1997. It was developed and published by Namco.

I'm not even close to the biggest racing game fan, so it wasn't too much of a surprise that I never heard of Rage Racer before. Rage Racer is part of the Ridge Racer series, and the 3rd console outing for the series.

I don't have a whole heck of a lot to say about this game. It plays fairly well, and I would have been insanely impressed with the graphics in 1997. Rage Racer could be the best racing game ever made, and I wouldn't know it -- to me, as a casual, and it seems pretty solid. I'm always a fan of PS1 games running at high framerates, though.
