Complete in Cast Episode 32 – Game Review #10 – Darksiders II (Guest: Parker)
Welcome to Complete in Cast, the official podcast for Complete in Box Video games. In this episode, we continue on to the surprisingly different Darksiders II (PS4 re-master).
We were both very much surprised at how much Darksiders II varied from the first one. The first Darksiders was, at its core, a God of War style action game with Legend of Zelda elements. The best way to explain Darksiders II would be ‘Prince of Persia meets open-world RPG’. In the first Darksiders, you play as War, and everything is built to be big, powerful, and brutal. Death, Darksiders II’s protagonist, is quick, nimble, and tries to actively avoid combat.
Darksiders II is also a huge game – with multiple huge worlds and tons of quests, it really is an ambitious project. As with all ambitious projects, some things work great, some… not-so-well. We discuss in detail all of these ideas.
Enjoy!
