I made this video to teach Composite Signal Waveform Basics. I show the how to identify the Horizontal and Vertical Blanking periods, the frame (picture) information, and color burst phasing. I show how to set your scope trigger to capture line and frame sync events.

For a practice exercise, we troubleshoot a Santa Mega Drive 2 Mega S-02 video adapter with a bad composite signal and find the problem.

I made this because I'm setting up a new workbench and need to know all my equipment is operating correctly. It's good habit to maintain your equipment and tools and typically you must employ many troubleshooting techniques for the wide range of equipment you have. Hope this helps, enjoy!
