Jon Koomey addresses trends in the energy efficiency of computing which promise an explosion in data collected from mobile sensors and controls, with profound implications for our ability to understand and respond to the world around us.

Dr. Koomey is one of the leading experts on the economics of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the effects of information technology on resource use.

He has been a Consulting Professor at Stanford University, worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and has been a visiting professor at Yale University and UC Berkeley. His latest solo book is "Cold Cash, Cool Climate: Science-Based Advice for Ecological Entrepreneurs".
