"Conan: The Mysteries of Time" is an action-adventure game developed by Mindscape and published by Activision for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Released in 1991, the game is loosely based on the character Conan the Barbarian from Robert E. Howard's stories.

"One fateful night, Conan, the central character with aspirations of claiming the throne of Aquilonia, encounters an intriguing legend. This revelation comes from the enigmatic Nemonios, who unexpectedly emerges from a campfire. According to this legend, the kingdom's Early Kings had safeguarded Four Urns within the Crypt of Cahalla. These priceless artifacts have mysteriously disappeared, and it is foretold that whoever retrieves these Urns will ascend to the throne.

The journey of Conan unfolds through an action-adventure video game spanning six levels. These levels encompass the treacherous Catacombs of Belveras, the haunting Ruins of Ry-leeh in Brythunia, the perilous Kordavo situated at the "mouth" of the Black River, the mystical Forests of Asgard, the ethereal Sky Castle of Vanaheim, and the forbidding Tombs of Zamboula—where the coveted four Urns await.

Conan wields a sword to dispatch enemies ranging from soldiers to mythical creatures, all while navigating treacherous terrain and avoiding hazards. Throughout the game, players must also collect keys and solve puzzles to progress.

Conan's quest is not merely about combat and action; it also includes puzzles. Players must employ their problem-solving skills to unveil the concealed locations of special weapons, crucial for defeating bosses.

While the game received mixed reviews due to its difficulty level and somewhat repetitive gameplay, it remains an interesting title in the NES library.

"Conan: The Mysteries of Time" offers a blend of action and adventure, making it a noteworthy addition to the NES catalog, especially for fans of Conan or those seeking a challenging gaming experience.
