That was a thoroughly bland experience. The problem with trying to adapt Lovecraft stories is that the horror comes from the unknown and the unknowable, and these adaptation surround things so horrifying or immense or whatever that they drive people insane. You obviously can't do that in a game, so these games always fall flat. You can't have the payoff because the payoff doesn't exist. It doesn't help when you wrap that story in a bland experience filled with hunting for items that are often placed in unnecessarily hidden areas. Or maybe I'm just bad at finding things. Either way, I didn't enjoy Conarium. It brings nothing new to the table and ends up treading down very familiar paths.
