Console Exclusives are NOT Bad!
Talk about trying to justify ripping off consumers.
"Folks keep pushing the notion and ideology that exclusives are bad." Yes, they are to consumers, because they have to buy a whole console to enjoy games that could've been enjoyed in a platform that they already own. It's not, however, bad for the console manufacturers because it's a selling point for them.
Personally, I don't mind console manufacturers selling exclusives. I get that that's how they're selling the consoles, but I do mind them selling underwhelming exclusives, which is the case for a lot of PS5-only games today IMO, especially when most of the underwhelming ones are already on PC. Even the best exclusives of that console are not enough to convince me. The one game that might make an arguable case to buy consoles is Grand Theft Auto VI. Not for me, but for a lot of people. I expect console sales to skyrocket when this game comes out.
"Imagine telling every AA and indie company that engages in an exclusivity deal that they shouldn't have because of your beliefs rather than facts and budgetary realities." Well, those games get a budget boost from the manufacturers yes, but they also come to PC like Helldivers II, Cuphead for a while, the Ori games, and Forza Horizon 5. So, it's not a full exclusive, but a partial one.
"You want devs and publishers to spend more money and take on increased risk simply because you want to spend less money as a consumer." Yes. That's a good thing. I care more about the consumer's wallets rather than the game developers' or the industry's wallets. Whether they fail or not is entirely on them, not us.
