1Fighting Angels, also known as The Cat Fight Meneko Densetsu, is a 3D fighting game released on PlayStation 2 in 2004. The game features an all-female cast and offers 1-on-1 battles with elements inspired by wrestling. Players can freely move around the arena, incorporating the ropes into their fighting strategies and utilizing ground-based grappling moves. Each character has four attack types—weak and strong punches and kicks—with three variations for each. Players can also execute "Sexy Attacks," which, while weaker, help build up the character's "Sexy Gauge." When this gauge is full, players can unleash a powerful Sexy Combo Attack capable of draining the opponent’s health.
In addition to the standard versus mode for 1 or 2 players, Fighting Angels includes several other modes, such as tournament mode, survival mode, and practice mode. The game also features a unique view mode, allowing players to dress characters in unlocked outfits and watch their animations from any angle. With a mix of flashy combat moves and strategic use of the environment, the game offers a playful yet competitive fighting experience. Fighting Angels producer Nobuyuki Okajima would go on to work on the Earth Defence Force games, including the most recent title Earth Defence Force 6. #femaleroster #fightinggames #gaming
