its been a taxing two months, but im happy to say i am finally done with the most recent soundodger contest! here are some timestamps and subsequent thoughts on the levels i've participated in:

0:00 - The Great Cock and Seagull Race (War)
the prompt for this round was to use a song from before 2000, and i got paired with sam and zain. cant really say too much else about this level besides that the entire process behind making this level felt like a fever dream.

2:41 - Underground
got paired with melloe for this round, and the objective was to use only one enemy. we opted for something that was rather difficult and a bit hard to see, which ended up with this being my worst round overall. cant really say i dislike the level that much for what it is, it has some fairly interesting concepts in mind. in hindsight it would've been better to execute said ideas a little better, but its water under the bridge at this point. recording is in zen mode btw since i cant be assed to actually beat this.

6:15 - The Cat
had to make a level with an xml size under 60kb for this round, and i gotta say birdhusband and i kinda popped off with this round. in terms of chemistry this was probably my favorite round since i really enjoyed working with bird compared to my other partners (no disrespect to the rest of you xox). people didn't really like the song in this one too much, which might've led to a slightly lower score, but otherwise i am extremely content with this level.

8:53 - Til We're Dancing Together
jellorain and i decided to work with this opiuo track for our prime enemy count level. somehow won this round with her, but i will say this was one of the worst rounds i had on a purely chemistry-based level, as half of this level was built hours before the deadline. i mean i guess this level is kinda fun, but otherwise im pretty neutral about this one. feel like i could've done a lot more with my part, but ill take a dub any day of the week.

12:44 - Credits
got partnered with ghostcharm for this round, where we got to make an easy level. however, we decided to primarily base our gameplay on a laser gimmick based on outre lux by som1sezhi, which led to us kinda throwing this round. as it turned out, the concepts we had in mind were too annoying for a good chunk of those who played this level, which ended up making this the most contriversial/notable level from this round, which i'll consider a win. surprisingly didn't do terribly this round either, which is icing on the cake.

14:31 - Minimalist (Wayr Remix)
for this round, teams were tasked with remixing another soundodger level. i've had ideas for this song since the original remix contest, so autumnlotus and i ended up making a 1.001 enemy level based on the original level's 1 enemy layout, which i thought was a nice concept since it stays faithful to the original while building upon it in interesting manners. the construction of this level wasnt the smoothest, but this ended up winning this round, so im a happy camper. really content with how this level turned out, although i wish i did more with my half.

18:19 - Fifty FPS Forest
more of a fakeout for my actual impossible level but i figured i'd throw this in here anyways

19:40 - Jewel Crust
for the final round of this tournament, kostixas781 and i were suppose to make an impossible level. we originally decided on doing majesty by false noise, but later decided on doing this song from the same album, which proved to be much more successful. didn't really like this level initially as i was having a lot of trouble refining the level in the later stages of development, but looking back i am very happy with how this level turned out. this song in particular is vastly different in how the two halves are constructed, which i think played well into our teams styles.

overall, i am very pleased with my participation this contest, and i hope that this helps me develop as a creator in soundodger+.

for all you geometry dash people, expect more uploads in that game now i guess :P
