Sailfish OS with AD can run Android apps – most of them anyway. But some apps are trying to force you to have Google Services installed (most often Maps or Store).
Some go that far, that they do not even let you open the app without it.
Since SFOS is based on data protection and Google Services are one of the biggest enemies I can think of regarding privacy it would be pretty harmful to install those. (I am not even sure if that is possible actually, but only thinking about it would be somehow against the whole idea, right?).
But do not dispair, there is a better solution. It is called "MicroG" and in this video I am going to talk about what that is and how to get it.
