Bob Rupples tries this game. This was maybe his third or fourth full attempt. Despite being twice as long as the NES version with 19 levels, it seems much worse. The hit detection on larger enemies is very specific from what he showed me and the control isnt as tight.
The bosses count as levels and are basically all very similiar, unlike the NES version. There is no alien with swinging arms for example. Instead enemies just keep running from both sides as you shoot some machine with turrets on it.
Also the extra levels are mostly recycled areas, and as I mentioned, many bosses count as levels.
