CONTROL PC 4K - Real-Time Ray Tracing - RTX 2080Ti Testing & Gameplay
Read description! Hi :) So I didnt manage to get FPS counter to run in DX12 and havent really looked for anyone working. But I can say this. Not even with Ray Tracing turned off, you wont play the game with DX12 maxed out and get 60fps in this game at 4K with a RTX2080Ti.
Its a really good looking game that take all modern graphical implementations into it. I do test different settings while the video records and while im playing, also sorry for dying few times in a row, this game style is completly new to me and buttons to fight are a bit weird to me but I do progress :)
Only way to max out the game and get over 60fps with max settings with an RTX 2080Ti is by using DLSS and downscale it with that down to 1920x1080p while using 4K Native. I would have prefered 1440p and I will probably play it with that while not recording that is. DLSS down to 1440p I was around 45fps maxed out and all Ray Tracing options running at max which I can be fine with if the picture is fairly smooth, and games like this 3rd person perspective that is I dont mind beeing below 60fps, but yeah we all prefer 60 ;)
Its a very demanding Ray Tracing game and it makes use of the whole spectrum of the feature aswell on High settings, light, shadows and reflections, keep in mind, Shadow of the Tomb Raider only uses Shadow part of Real-time Ray Tracing and is demanding AF, this game use all those features at once and are even more demanding. Without DLSS at 4K all settings cranked up max you will get around 25fps with an RTX 2080Ti. And its the first game I would say that the denoising is noticable, but its not that annoying.
You might see some denoising from the Deep Learning Tensor Cores when playing but when you get used to it its not that annoying anymore and is early tech. But this game could be optimized by lowering the insane high textures to get better performance in same areas where you wont look as much I guess, but it looks fantastic, Ray Tracing do it part of it aswell.
