6🛑 Environmentalists, academics, and citizens reject the potential intervention of more than 11,000 square meters of the Dr. Rafael María Moscoso National Botanical Garden for the expansion of República de Colombia and Jacobo Majluta avenues.
The Ministry of Environment and Public Works has not provided clarity on the project plans, even though construction is already progressing. The Academy of Sciences, the UASD (University of Santo Domingo), and biodiversity experts have raised their alarm over this threat to the most important ecological lung of Greater Santo Domingo.
