In today's show me and Mari cook up a beef stew in our crock pot. We used a 7 quart crock pot.
Recipe:
This is a fairly straight forward recipe. It's mostly just selecting your ingredients, cutting them up, and letting them all slowcook together in a crockpot.
Ingredients:
Beef Roast. In this case it's Angus Beef. But you can substitute with chuckeye, or pork loin, or whatever meat you'd like to stew up.
Mushrooms. This varies batch to batch. Today we used Baby Bella.
Carrots
Red and Golden Potatoes
Green Onions
Garlic Cloves
Fresh grated ginger.
Sauces:
Sriracha Sauce
Soy Sauce
Hoisun Sauce
Beef Stock. You can use broth, but stock provides a stronger flavor
Seasonings:
Chile Powder
Dark Chili Powder
Chili Flakes
Black Pepper
Seasalt
Step 1:
Begin cutting your ingredients. I start with the meat, as that is usually what
I have the most of, and will determine how much of the other ingredients I can fit in. This will vary based upon what size crockpot you have.
Step 2:
Put all your ingredients in. Cut and season to taste. We tend to prefer spicy so we go harder on the spicy elements.
Step 3:
Once you've got all your spices in, now add your sauces and stock. Once done with this, put the lid on, and let slow cook on low for 8 hours.
