2We fight the corruptor and then return to the labyrinth where the Keeper is now able to open the door towards the final area.
Remnant II pits survivors of humanity against new deadly creatures and god-like bosses across terrifying worlds. Play solo or co-op with two other friends to explore the depths of the unknown to stop an evil from destroying reality itself.
The Corruptor is a massive Root entity currently controlling the Thaen Guardian. As such, the fight is comprised of two separate bosses; however, only by damaging the Corruptor can you defeat the boss and complete this storyline.
The fight takes place on three floating platforms you can get to by jumping from each set of stairs. You'll want to jump to another platform when the Corruptor starts charging up its powerful beam attack (its only move) that covers an entire platform.
This beam can't be manually dodged, and if hit, it will quickly deplete your entire health bar.
During most of the fight, you'll have to deal with the Guardian to expose the Corruptor's weak spot. Once you've killed the Guardian, The Corruptor will fly over its inanimate body and attempts to revive it—this is by far the best window to unleash all of your bullets at its core.
The Thaen Guardian has three different attacks:
Detachable Arms: The Guardian will send its arms at you and utilize a spinning attack and a standard slash to damage you. These arms will also gain their health bar and, when killed, will damage the overall health bar of the Guardian.
Spinning Swords: Holding all of its arms to the side, the Guardian then spins its upper body in a wide arc while advancing towards you.
Shockwave Leap: The Guardian will only use this move to follow you from platform to platform. As it jumps and lands on a platform, it will emit a shockwave from its feet. Though this move isn't much of a threat, the real issue is having to divide your attention to the Guardian when trying to damage the main boss.
The Corruptor will provide one of two possible rewards when defeated:
Killing the Corruptor while the Guardian is knocked down will reward you with the Twisted Lazurite = Twisted Arbalest.
Killing the Corruptor while the Guardian is still active will net you the Hollow Heart = Stonebreaker.
