Counter strike 2 (21.06.2025) - Testing new computer in CSGO Training Maps
Sorry for taking (involuntary) longer hiatus from gaming and uploading videos. But had problems with older computer.
Have build myself a new computer of both new and older parts. Bought a more modern case with glas side and glas front. Case are called NZXT H6 Flow Midi Tower, in the black version model. Has almost the typical case shape that are squared, but not quite. Has a skewed angle on the right front side, that has 3 fans mounted from start.
Beside that, the case has room on the backside of the motherboard for the PSU, and an optional metal case one can use for only one SATA Harddrive. By optional, I mean that metal case can be screwed off, and unmounted. That would be if one has no SATA HD, but only M.2 drives. And makes sense perhaps, they only let the small metal case had room for only one SATA drive, when most people are slowly moving towards M.2 drives that are a lot faster (typical around 17-35 times faster * )
*: While SATA HDDs typically offer read/write speeds around 100-200 MB/s, M.2 NVMe SSDs can achieve speeds of 2000-3500 MB/s or even higher, depending on the generation of PCIe used.
New motherboard are a Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI-CF. And with 64 GB DDR4 memory. And an Intel I9 9900K CPU (the letter K at the end of the processor name signifies that it is unlocked for overclocking) with 8 Cores and 16 threads. And a default CPU clock speed of 3.6 Ghz. And up to 5 Ghz when overclocked to the max.
Waiting for an external Harddrive on 6TB, so I can clean up in my files better. And rip the rest of my CD's, DVD's. And perhaps also Blurays.
BTW: Because of it was a modern case I bought, the front has no bays for optical drives. So I had to squeeze both a SATA cable, and power cable up to the top of the case. The cables are squeezed between the top lid, and the side panel. Doesn't look that pretty, but a quick solution I had to make, so I can continue ripping discs.
Reusing the old Windows HDD SATA drive in the new computer. Sounds a bit noisy almost like an old farming tractor sometimes.
So saving up at the moment, for a 4TB m.2 drive.
Thought the old graphiccard GTX 1060 had errors, because of black screen and a spinning circle cursor when booting up.
Changed both thermal pads and cooling paste on the GTX 1060.
Still black screen while booting up.
Tried to boot up with a Knoppix Live OS (Linux distribution) on an USB stick, and on Knoppix the display were fine there on the desktop. And did a quick test in small 3D game.
So the culprit had to be inside Windows, and either a faulty driver, or in the registration database. Took Graphicscard out, and booted up Windows using the onboard graphiccard in the Intel I9 CPU. And used the software DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) that are special software to make sure to uninstall a faulty driver in the right manner. That means uninstall the driver, plus also remove various of older traces of the NVIDIA driver in the registration database. DDU require btw to be booted up in safe mode, so it can do it's thing without interferences from other programs. But the faulty NVIDIA driver got completely removed. And I were able now to boot up in windows with the GTX 1060 card, without seeing that weird black screen. But the normal Windows login screen. And at last, I installed the NVIDIA driver (a fresh new version). Making a restorepoint. Rebooting. And making another restorepoint, just for the heck of it, to be safe.
And now everything, or almost everything seems fine. And running the games smooth. Just need that new 4TB m.2 drive bad, when HDD with windows on, don't sound that good. A bit slow and little noisy.
But it's okay for now. But will be close to perfect with that m.2. And even getting a modern RTX card, could definitely help on fps speed and more beautiful graphics.
Have installed a Corsair 1800 Watt PSU. So the rig are ready for a possible RTX graphicscard.
Feel I'm rusty in the CS game, and perhaps also other FPS games, because of hiatus caused by that older defect computer. So now I'm just slowly get back into FPS shape again. And why I'm using training maps in CSGO.
Thanks for watching. Much more gaming videos will follow... Regards from Krusty :-)
BTW Had a big housefire earlier in 2023, and lost everything.
Still slowly getting back on my feet again. But still kind of hard
financially.
If possible, I would appreciate any kind of donation. I have the link on my Youtube Profile, and here below. Thanks in advance.
If I get any kind of donations, I will use it for upgrading my system. And get better content.
If you don't have Paypal, but have some hardware parts left over, I would gladly receive any RTX card.
Or any Graphicscard in RTX family. Could also be a bit recent motherboard that fits to an I9 CPU.
DDR4 or DDR5 memory could also be very nice.
Any kind of donations would be a big help for me. Thanks in advance.
