My opinion has changed quite a bit of this map over the lots of updates that it received in the last 2 years or so (yes... a lot of version changes is the least you can tell from this map's numerous v's and numbers). In the beginning I really, didn't like this map that much. For starters, it felt way too big for its shallow design and bleak visuals. Over the updates, this has changed though, with more details making their way in the skybox and textures.
The bosses, special items and overall effects have also considerably improved, and especially the final level (God Mode) really changed my perception of the map, and the required skill for this level is very high (ranking amongst the most difficult levels of all times).
At this point, Westersand has become a standard in most Zombie Escape servers, just like Mako Reactor back in the time. It really seems like Final Fantasy is a recurring and popular theme in Zombie Escape, and as such is always a welcome addition when new maps are being made.
Westersand is a masterpiece that every veteran of Zombie Escape must have tried many times, until he's able to beat the map. A true recommendation!
Enjoy!

GAMEPLAY MODE: Zombie Escape
Zombie Escape is a Source Mod that runs in CS:S and CS:GO. The goal is to escape as a team (CT's) from the infected (T) that get randomly chosen each round. During the escaping attempt, random and fixed events may happen that reward special items to aid in pushing back the zombies. If the team succeeds in surviving, they win and the zombies are slayed.
If the opposite is true, all humans will become infected and all hope is lost! Make sure to bring good teamwork to the table as you'll need it to overcome some of the harder challenges such as boss battles and giant zombie hordes.
