Couple Makes a Bet No Eating out No Cheat Meals No Alcohol This Is What They Look like Now
1,487Lexi and Danny Reed were obese, and they felt as though they were trapped inside their own bodies. There are many things that they wanted to do, but unfortunately, their weight problems made many of their aspirations impossible. Finally, they decided to do something about it. Their story is incredible and inspirational.
Lexi struggled with her weight ever since she was young. Each time she managed to lose some weight, she would gain it back. This often left her depressed. When she was 25-years-old, she weighed 392 pounds. She was severely depressed, and she felt alone. Fortunately for Lexi, love, and hope were right around the corner.
When Lexi met Danny Reed, she knew right away that they were destined to be together. Danny felt the same way about Lexi. Her weight didn't bother him. He fell in love with who she was inside. Danny struggled with his own weight issues. When they got together, they made bad food choices together. The relationship made them happier but not healthier. The couple didn't cook, so they ordered out instead. Date nights consisted of spending hours at buffets, eating until they couldn't eat another bite.
Lexi always knew that she had a problem with food. She wasn't ready to admit it until Danny got down on one knee and proposed. Although Danny loved her no matter what she looked like, she wanted to do something about her weight. She wanted to fit into a wedding dress, and she wanted to live a long and healthy life with her future husband. Lexi also wanted children. She knew that due to her weight, getting pregnant and giving birth would have been a huge health risk. Lexi also wanted to travel. Due to her size, boarding a plane wouldn't be possible. At close to 500 pounds, it was time for the couple to make a change.
On New Year's Day in 2016, Lexi had an idea. She wanted to lose weight, and she wanted Danny to lose weight as well. Danny didn't want to change, but he was willing to try for Lexi's sake. The first thing that they had to do was set down certain rules. For the first month, they wouldn't eat out, they wouldn't drink soda, alcohol was off-limits, and they would work out for 30 minutes, five days a week. They knew that they needed self-control, but they had each other to lean on.
Finding a place to workout wasn't as easy as Lexi thought. Her weight caused her joints to hurt which made working out difficult. Also, she didn't want to workout in a crowded gym because she was so self-conscious about her weight. Finally, she found a gym, and she even discovered the CrossRamp machine which she loved, and it didn't hurt when she used it.
Lexi didn't call the change in her eating habits a diet. She just called it a change. She didn't starve herself. She took dishes that she loved and created healthier versions.
As Lexi started losing weight, she started to feel more motivated. She became comfortable enough to take classes at the gym, and she even made friends. With the support of Danny and her new friends, Lexi was losing 20 pounds a month. Exercise and calorie counting was really paying off. Danny also saw great success. Danny was down to 190 pounds from 280, and he was feeling great.
From the very beginning, Lexi was documenting her weight loss journey. It wasn't long before she had hundreds of followers. People were watching her progress and becoming inspired by her. Lexi says that having her followers inspired her to continue working hard.
Lexi and Danny have lost a combined weight of 800 pounds. They were finally able to board a plane and take their honeymoon to Florida. Lexi was not longer too heavy to ride the rides. They even took up hiking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. Lexi and Danny have changed their lives and their appearances considerably over the past few years. Lexi says that she has a new lease on life, and having a family can now be a reality. Lexi says that she has Danny, her friends, and her Instagram followers to thank for her success. She also thanked herself for deciding to change her life the way that she did. This couple makes a bet: No eating out, no cheat meals, no alcohol. This is what they look like now. They are thrilled with their new lives, and they are a true inspiration.
