Wanted to record some footage from this game I have been testing out sometimes, weird one for sure. It's essentially Resident Evil merged with Metal Gear Solid-series, but has interesting things going on. Technically, it uses prerendered backrounds, but camera follows the player and pans along the way, making it sort of weird hybrid. Some backrounds actually look pretty good, but most of them are total garbage and have strange shapes with the pixel layouts.
One interesting little detail in the game is that the character blinks his eyes, not remember seeing this in other PS1 games.
Controls are also a sort of weird hybrid of the RE and MGS controls, having tank controls like in RE for movement, but the buttons for other stuff are strange, you use Circle to run and Square to shoot, and you don't need to aim with the gun, it does it automatically (but poorly, sometimes it turns the whole character into the opposite direction from enemy etc).

Ingame GCI videos are also absolutely horrid, using the game models within rendering program for making videos. I remember Driver 1 from 1999 having as bad CGI quality as in this, or Syphon Filter. When you compare these to the ones in RE2 couple years before this, they were in completely different league.


I might test out some backround graphic upscales that how they would work and look, if I can make that happen.
