In my experience, technicians working safely on rooftops, especially when a crane truck operator is involved requires a focused mind, alertness, and a real desire to keep everyone else safe too. Good techs know how to be safe when working on rooftops and I hope this helps you refocus on the basics.

When we are preparing to remove ac units from the rooftop, we need to consider a few things. Here's what you'll learn from this video:

First, we'll talk about having a lead installer or foreman who takes charge of the job site. We always want to adopt proper safety measures and alertness while handling any load with crane.

Next, I'll talk a little bit about the crane truck operator and how they help remove a/c units from rooftops. Usually, they are very experienced at what they do, so it's important to work together to complete the task safely.

I'll talk about the importance of crane hand signals that should be used when communicating back and forth with the crane operator.

It's important to have a culture of safety, where safety training is done on a regular basis with your crew. We don't want to put anyone in immediate danger when working on rooftops.

This is another one of my HVAC training videos that will help with the installation of air conditioning units on the roof.

I'm going to also give you some of my favorite tips for ladder safety. One is tying off your ladder, and the other involves the use of a gutter protector that doubles as a stabilizer for your ladder.

HVAC safety is important to me as I've been in the field for a long time. I've seen and heard of so many accidents that could have been avoided on the job site.
