Crash Bandicoot 2 Prototype - Snow Go
This is the prototype version of Crash Bandicoot 2 that was "released" a few days ago. It has a total of ten playable levels and one boss battle. Only one warp room is available through normal means, so the rest must be accessed with gameshark codes. This is an early version of the game and there are several changes in both gameplay and level design.
This video shows the start up, title screen and the first level - Snow Go. There are only minor differences in this level, with the most notable being the placement of the metal pillar that now appears after the ice instead of in the middle. As for general differences, there are plenty. There are no gems, so I don't bother with all the boxes. Crystals are smaller and more transparent. Nitro switches don't exist. If you die in the bonus stage, it will be locked and you can only access it again if you kill yourself. Do that as many times as you like, because there are no game overs here. The most annoying thing is that when you do a slide-jump, Crash will simply stop as he lands and won't be able to move until the animation has ended. This can be avoided by spinning when you land, but still.
