"Heroes" is an album by Pixel Mixers and GameGrooves, in support of the charity organization Child's Play. All benefits go to Child Play, so if you like what you hear, make sure to purchase the album and support the good cause.
I was a late addition to the album, and only because a claimed track became free. The game series, Crash Bandicoot, was already predetermined. I am not super familiar with the Crash Bandicoot series, but when checking out the OST, I stumbled upon this gem called "Turtle Woods" that had this very tasty hook that just needed to be rearranged. Inspired by Funk Fiction's track "It's-a-Me" (https://soundcloud.com/ocremix/01-its-a-me-super-mario-world-funk-fiction) on OCReMix' remix album Super Cartography Bros (https://cartography.ocremix.org), I opted to try my hand at some nu-disco. Of course that also meant recording and adding various silly noises, and I ended up re-creating one of the game's sound effect too, for extra effect. This also was my first solo track in a long while, so that was a lot of fun. Hope you'll enjoy the track just as much as I do. If you do, please buy the album and support Child's Play through it!
