After getting the Purple Gem in High Time, a wall in this level with the Purple Gem on it will open up, revealing a brand new route.

Although this route has a Gem at the end of it, it also has several crates that you need to break open in order to get this level's crate Gem, too. So, just like in the PS1 version, I go through this death route first, then backtrack to the main route and still use that to reach the end with both Gems in tow.
