Why change Spider-Woman's (Jessica Drew) skin color instead of making a new black character?
I don't understand it. They've changed so much about the character's look already, why not just make a new character instead of using the Jessica Drew name?
The next time a Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) animated movie, comic, live-action, whatever is made they'll likely use the white version (since that's the character).
Therefore, you've accomplished nothing.
But if you created a new character and named her something like Diane Gregory or something, that character will continue to exist.
You've actually done something.
