Creating a Dell Windows 7 Media Refresh January 2020 Reinstallation USB using NTLite
In this video I demonstrate the slipstreaming of USB 3.0 and Storage Controllers to the Windows 7 boot.wim. In the install.wim the NVMe hotfixes, Internet Explorer 11, the Convenience Rollup, and the final January 2020 Security Rollup are added as Windows Updates and as I am using a Dell OptiPlex 7040 as a demonstration I have also slipstreamed the Driver Cabinet file for this model giving the installation media a complete driver set for this model. Finally the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.7.2 is added. This is done using the program NTLite opposed to manually typing in command lines or making a script as I done before. This allows for a seamless Clean Install of Windows 7 on up to 6th Generation Dell-Intel Hardware. I demonstrator a clean install of Windows 7 with the correct UEFI BIOS Settings on my OptiPlex 7040. Windows 7 has now reached end of life. If you want to reinstall Windows 7 again in the future I would carry out this procedure as soon as possible in case downloads start getting removed.
