Creating in Unity #1: Controls and Levels
Here's some basic info on how to approach creating your own prototypes or games. It's often hard to know how to get started, and hopefully this will help.
I do use a lot of third party content to help me do things faster and easier. I don't endorse any of these things, but I do vouch for them actually working, as you can see. If you are short on cash, be sure to compare them to their competition before you fork anything out.
You can get a lot done without spending any money at all, but I'm afraid I don't know much about that.
