Well. Here we are. Roughly 18 months down the line, I've finally finished the UMVC3 8 Bit project. It feels like a lot longer, but it has been a great run. Nova's 8 Bit theme was pretty much the first remix I made that gained a bit of notoriety around the web, more so in the FGC. That great reception lead me on to do Phoenix Wright's theme, at which point I realized, "hey, why don't I just do ALL the character themes from UMVC3?" And so here we are today. Yes, I missed out Arthur, Firebrand and Spencer, but I still stand by the fact that they're themes are already in 8 Bit. I know people wanted to see a "Bulbamike remix" of the themes anyway, and who knows, maybe I'll do something down the line.

What's also great about this whole thing is you can see how I've improved over those months. Because, let's be real, objectively, the Nova theme remix isn't polished at all. It's just got that NES charm. I've learned so much throughout this process, the technical limitations of the NES chip, and how composers found creative solutions to these problems. Compare Nova's theme to MODOK's theme, and I think you can definitely see a huge difference in quality.

I want to give a massive shout out to Lythero, animator and UMVC3 YouTube eSports superstar, for helping me out with the video. Yes, the animations and transitions aren't exactly cutting edge, but I don't know how to do that stuff. I only know iMovie, which is assbags for that kind of thing. If you are unaware of this mans existence, check out his YouTube channel-

And yes, I made all the sprites. And by made, I mean recolored. And by recolored, I mean the Mega Man color scheme, I actually made most of the weapons. Apart from Chun-Li, I just chose a different shade of yellow and blue.

So what's next? Well, I've got a few more "8 Bit projects" I want to start, similar to how I'm 8 Bit-ing the Mega Man X OST right now. As for fighting games though, I'm not sure what I'll do yet. None of the FG's out there at the moment have a whole OST I'd like to work on, only separate tracks. Perhaps I'll get into UMVC3/Injustice gameplay videos, maybe get a capture card etc. Who knows, for now at least.

Also, why did they take this out of UMvC3? What were they thinking?

======

I make all my 8 Bit remixes from scratch, it is a creative process in which I rework or re-imagine existing tracks into an 8 Bit inspired sound. Proof of creation will always be available if needed.
