4A demonstration of my stage route through stage 2, scoring 632oku.
Stage 2 is a tricky one to score over 500oku in, as there are a few challenging Break Mode timings that can cause your pointgain to fluctuate greatly, and in some cases, you might not even make it to Double Break Mode due to some of the big gaps in enemy formations in the stage making it difficult to generate Break power.
The first Break Mode is timed carefully so that I get to the first big tank with about 20% left on my timer.This will allow me to damage the big tank for stars, and also to do enough damage so that when I trigger Double Break (still firing with Shot), I damage the tank enough to hit it for x6.4 and a huge boost in my multiplier timer, which will carry through the stage until DBM ends.
The second Break Mode is trickier to do. The safe way is to activate Break Mode as soon as you get it at the tower section (with the laser turrets and the indestructable pods on the right side), but this will get you halfway through the big flying ship rush before the midboss before Double Break ends. The scoring method I use is to charge up the Break Power bars through the tower section until the two big tanks appear, damage both big tanks enough and then hit them in Break Mode for x5.6. While the multiplier and invincibility is active, sweep through the stage with Shot, charging up Double Break, then activate it when the enemy rush before the midboss arrives for x6.4. Done correctly, you should get to the midboss with DBM and x6.4 still active, allowing you to hit the front turret full force for a nice boost in score.
You must destroy both pods on the midboss for the next Break Mode section to work, otherwise you won't generate enough multiplier timer to carry through. In this run I only picked up x4.8, but you can get x5.6 to carry through to the trains.
And speaking of the trains, time the final Break Mode as late as you can, so you have enough time and opportunity to boost to DBM, otherwise the last set of trains will be worthless.
Some timing errors in this run, particularly attempting to x6.4 the drone rush after the midboss, and not killing the third form of the boss while DBM is active, missing out on tens of oku in points. Personal maximum with a flawless run through the stage is around 700oku, maybe.
