CCWE just drops on Steam, so I have to bath myself in the glory of Arrange, it's just so awesome.
WE introduces Arrange, which changes the game mechanics in a variety of ways. The most notable change may be the introduction of the gradius powerup-style system, where you can powerup your shit when your power bar reaches a block of preferred powerup.
There's also a new type of star item, and some enemy layout changes. (Ex: Stage 2 midboss has been moved to stage 4 as the midboss, which leaves stage 2 midbossless)
Arrange is very easy due to you can enable a shield which acts as autobomb when you get hit, the patterns generally only get to the original version's difficulty with max ranks, and you get a lot of lifes (in Unlimited you even get a shield everytime you respawn)
Type I is probably the best ship for both scoring and survival thanks to the wide shot range, decent movement speed with some speedups, and homing options which can make a lot of parts in the game trivial.
Unfortunately, type Z isn't included in this Arrange, you can still use Arrange to quickly rack up stars to unlock type Z in the original version however.
I may try to get a better score in the future and put down some annotations for specific mechanics if I can.
