0Onto the naturally sexy & dangerous member that is Kim Lip! She surely has a bright future!
Today I'm reacting to LOONA/Kim Lip's 'Eclipse' music video, choreography & 'Twilight' lyrics for episode 12 of 'cru3l to the Moon' and give my honest thoughts and first impressions on the songs and Kim Lip as a member of LOONA. I also try to sort this into the story of the LOONAVERSE, but I'm honestly not going to focus on that as much anymore, because it takes away enjoyment from the songs themselves. I will still point out what I saw and think about the story, but I won't overanalyze anymore.
Beginning this description talk with 'Eclipse'. Overall I do like the song, but definitely think that the music video itself is destracting you as a viewer too much from the song itself. The shots used (many close ups) are also not the best choice in my opinion, as it takes away from the scenery and makes the music video often feel like a low budget / low effort craft. Which in retrospect does a disservice to Kim Lip's effort and the actual good song that is 'Eclipse'.
I enjoyed the Choreography Ver. video much more, because it was just done better in that one. I could enjoy the song better and actually see more of the choreography as well. It's not the strongest choreo in the LOONA journey I have seen so far, but Kim Lip being the girl dancing is a plus. She's naturally charismatic and sexy, even at this point already. She just needs to gain more experience (as of this video dropping, not as of 2021).
'Twilight' on the other hand was a track that to me felt longer than it actually was. It's quite a short song but it made me keep thinking "wow, when does this end? hasn't it been running for 4 minutes now?" - which is not a good thing whatsoever and I would argue shows, that I was bored of the track. But that does happen, so we move. Can't change anything about that.
I like 'Eclipse' much more, I just think the music video itself did the song a slight disservice. Thankfully the audio as a standalone is a banger.
