History
The company was initially founded by Bobby Bao, Gary Or, Kris Marszalek, and Rafael Melo in 2016 as "Monaco".
In 2021, the company purchased the naming rights to Staples Center in Los Angeles, paying a reported $700 million to change the name to Crypto.com Arena for 20 years.[3] The name change takes effect on December 25, 2021.[4] Crypto.com also has notable sponsorship deals with Formula One, Serie A, the UFC, Paris Saint-Germain F.C., the Philadelphia 76ers[5], the Montreal Canadiens[3] and have signed Hollywood Star Matt Damon as brand ambassador.[6]
