Crysis 1 (2008) CPU Test / i7 11700K + RTX 3080
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION:
Well, I have recently updated some components of my PC, if not all of them. The following test shown aims to see the raw performance of my main CPU. We all know that the first Crysis (2008) is still used to this day as a benchmark in many desktop PCs to test single-core performance (IPC) since, as we all know, this game does not have the ability to take advantage of all the cores of a processor or Hyperthreading Technology resulting in poor performance on somes amd and intel cpus from the last decade, but rather only uses 1 at its full power. It is important to know that the game was developed with the understanding that at that time, applications and programs did not come with instructions to make the most of Intel's new and emerging technology (Hyperthreading). Instead, the developers placed a special emphasis on instructions per cycle (IPC) and said that over time the game could be played smoothly as processors became more powerful thanks to the per-core power. Well, that goal has finally been reached, but unfortunately, Intel maintained a monopoly for a long time, and we did not see a huge leap in technology and IPC, resulting in the game being unplayable for a long time (2012-2018) due to poor circumstances and lack of innovations in core performance. We have to give credit and thanks to the competition, Thank you AMD.
This is the performance that can be achieved with an 11th generation processor (2021). I did the test in this part of the map and game because it seems to me to be one of the most demanding scenes, containing many enemies (AI) and numerous assets in one place."
