De_ruination is a map that was born from a sudden streak of inspiration. I didn't make any layout drawings or planning for the layout. I didn't have any expectations for this map and i think that a different, more relaxed way to make a counter-strike level is good for it can bring out some new and interesting ideas. I think the overly competitive scene surrounding cs-go, also affects mappers, as many mappers tend to aim for perfection and too often shy away from trying anything too outlandish, out of the fear of getting critiqued way too harshly- or ridiculed. From these kind of maps, we can take inspiration and refine, not-so well implemented ideas to something that could be taken seriously as well. It works both ways!
