This video demonstrates the animation bug present in Counter-Strike Global Offensive. Yellow hitboxes shown are what you the player sees. Blue is where the player's hitbox is on the server which you don't see. This results in a miss whenever the client and server hitboxes are not lined up. Animations on the server are run on the oldest tick in a batch instead of the final tick that is sent to the client. As a result, all animations and hitboxes in the game are desynchronized whenever a player is lagging, dropping FPS, the server drops FPS, or the client exploits this bug by using cheats known as antiaim or spinbot. Patching this bug is as easy as changing the server code to animate on the newest command sent from a client instead of the oldest one. Near the end of this video a community-made fix is shown, correcting this bug. Let valve know that this needs to be fixed! It has been present in the game since the animation update of 2015.
