In this video, I drive a full lap of the custom track Big Express City backwards with the 3 mushrooms available in time trials. Because this doesn't actually require any of the mushrooms, I don't use them. In order for a track to count as being completed backwards, you must start in lap 1 and travel through all of lap 0 backwards, finishing by reaching lap -1. We will be going through the tracks of the CTGP 1.03-1112 update (29 Sep 2021) alphabetically, and returning to any past tracks if breakthroughs are made that change the statistics of the progression of the challenge (more on this later in the description).

Here, there are NO respawns that are mandatory to complete the track backwards, and there are NO sections requiring any mushrooms. This is known as a complete solution.

Playlist of these videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn5oUUeubCc&list=PLbnjjnFG8yVTXfNn9_cRdo2Mx3l_9mHrv (there is a backstory in the first few descriptions)

What I do in the video has undergone a lot of transformation that has been documented on my second channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGPuKK14yEQrqkkXV2NmYbA).

Exactly like Autumn Leavesway, there's 5 potential blockage points ("blocks"):
1. Getting up from the mossy multi-lane area
2. Getting from the tunnel entry to the railway overbridge
3. Getting up to the big ramp
4. Getting off the grated road to the railway
5. Getting up to the fountain area

This is the track responsible for the inspiration to start this series, since I was challenged by my mum to complete this backwards while playing random CTs RTA. When playing RTA, the 1st block was trivial shroomless with a respawn, but the 2nd block seemed impossible with no mushrooms to use, so I ended there. I switched over to try and TAS an idea to fix that and realised (for the 2nd block) you could seam ride until you hit the checkpoint required to respawn and pass it shroomless, which opened up the possibility to pass the 3rd, 4th, and 5th blocks. I then did a trivial respawn for the 3rd, a precise drift+MT for the 4th, and then found an insanely cool RFH ejection wall bonk (tech never seen before this point afaik) for the 5th, allowing for the track to be done in 3 respawns shroomless (https://youtu.be/4uyfLm2igbc).

Around this time, Charlie (https://www.youtube.com/c/CHARL1E) and I had agreed to start this series, so I told him I was working on Big Express City, I DIDN'T tell him my strats, and he got to work on his own run. He managed to get a completely different 3 respawn route. Instead of respawning at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd blocks like I did, he respawned at the 3rd and 5th blocks, respawning twice to pass the 5th. He sent me his run and I then told him all my strats, which in combination with his, would have allowed for a 1 respawn run. I should note he originally did a 2 respawn route (https://youtu.be/CfJ1rMzX5xA) but it didn't ever reach lap -1 so he had to come up with a way to make it count the lap, which took a 2nd respawn at the 5th block (https://youtu.be/j_F30xrSThs). Over time we also found a few extra time improvements, most included in those 2 videos, but one standalone too (https://youtu.be/uqdVY6TN3-M).

When returning to this track after completing Autumn Leavesway, Fear (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjeSAtYttyyGPdsliEeY9iA) told me about an RTA bagging strat that uses the secret cannon (an area I had already tested with no luck escaping from), which allowed for the 2nd-4th blocks to all be skipped simultaneously shroomless no respawns (https://youtu.be/8jJtfplMR74). While this improved the whole track to 0 respawns, the 1st block still stood requiring 1 mushroom, and I wanted to change that. I devised a plan to seam ride all the way back to the bridge you have to get up to on the 1st block, demonstrated gradually and modified slightly over 4 failed attempts (https://youtu.be/n8hqJfEuqFg, https://youtu.be/k7q0V5qNJBw, https://youtu.be/ndvQYSgxGJw, https://youtu.be/ZOb2wpy_PUo). Finally, this is police (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3f4F6RX4gBHOGxG6owYigg) figured out a way to perform the 1st block skip shroomless by devising a different approach to my already modified plan by doing what you see in this video (https://youtu.be/L0tKy1FQeuQ). All that was left was for me to TAS the entire strat in full and upload it to my main channel.

In summary, Big Express City has the following statistics to offer:
Minimum Respawns for Infinite Mushrooms: 0
Minimum Respawns for 3, 2, 1, 0 Mushrooms: 0, 0, 0, 0
Minimum Mushrooms for Minimum Respawns: 0
Minimum Mushrooms for Track Completion: 0

Lastly, this marks the very last official contribution Charlie is likely to ever make in Mario Kart Wii, so I used his mii and added a small dedication at the end of the video just for him. The things you were able to accomplish and provide in your 3 years of TAFing will be missed greatly. Thank you.
