More practice for DLC+Base Game Any% runs! Beppi glitch is still in the game after all these years, and this is looking to be a necessary trick to have a chance at the sub-39 in this category. This glitch saves roughly 20 seconds over the normal fight.

The key to triggering this glitch is to do enough damage to push Beppi into 3rd phase while he's still doing a 1st phase attack. The game doesn't know how to move Beppi directly from 1st to 3rd phase, so you instead get stuck in 2nd phase for the rest of the battle. This cuts down on phase transition time between 2nd to 3rd phase and from 3rd to final phase which makes this fight significantly faster. You need to damage Beppi and get him as close to 2nd phase as possible, and then wait for him to begin another 1st phase attack (he will never phase transition until his cart hits the side of the screen). Once he's locked into another 1st phase attack animation, just do as much damage as possible and try to trigger the glitch before his cart crashes off screen.
