Currys PC World Bad Customer Support & Service
Currys PC World Bad Customer Support & Service
In this video I'm giving an account of some very bad customer support from Currys PC World.
In fact, the Currys PC World customer & support and service that I'd received was not only bad but was very callous as it required a completely unnecessary journey to a very busy retail park, shopping centre.
I say callous because this journey to a busy shopping centre obviously increases the possibility of being exposed to the Covid-19 coronavirus. The risk of exposure is still very real here in the UK.
I waited to close to an hour in total before having to leave. The last straw was the apparent disregard for my concerns when I was talking with the Currys PC World store manager at the Speke Retail Park outlet in Liverpool. The store manager was also more interested in impressing upon me just how busy the store was. This was completely unprofessional behaviour by the store manager, who was obviously trying to deflect and was showing complete redundancy within his duties and his position by expecting me to be concerned with how busy his store was, as opposed to helping me.
Seriously, Currys PC World shouldn't be expecting a customer who's being waiting for almost an hour, to be sympathetic with their store's inability to deal with the amount of customers in any of their stores.
What compounded this issue was the fact that the journey to the store was required because the Currys PC World arranged pick up of the item I was returning, wasn't picked up by DPD. DPD being the courier service that Currys PC World had used to pick up the returning item.
I live in a block of flats and the DPD courier refused to come to my door and asked me to bring the returning item to the front entrance of the block of flats. When I got down to the front entrance, the DPD courier had left without picking up the return item.
As far as I'm concerned, the DPD courier service was also very bad and a company that I would personally never used again after this fiasco.
Anyway. The video clearly lays out my terrible experience with both Currys PC World and DPD courier service. I will follow up on this video once I've had this situation resolved, at which time I will give my final advice and opinion with purchasing goods from Currys PC World.
On a side note. Many people are complaining that companies such as Amazon are taking too much of a share of UK retail. With service like I've received from Currys PC World and DPD, it's no wonder why people are turning more and more to the likes of Amazon and online shopping. I'm fully aware of the many reported issues with regard Amazon's trading, tax accounting, the way it deals with its staff and suppliers etc. But it's no great surprise that companies such as Amazon are thriving when tradition retail outlets such as Currys PC World are dealing with their customers the way they have with me.
Cheers,
Dave.
