A shining example of how a singular entity can sell an entire package...
(I would strongly advise carrying the gnome... yes you are carrying a gnome... but the powers it possesses is what makes this campaign playable at times...)

Pros
+ GNOME WITH SUPER POWERS!
+ Well optimized
+ Challenging
Cons
- Gameplay was balanced with the idea that the players would take and use the gnome properly...
- More explosive barrels and fire than there is zombies...
- Navigational issues...
- Environments can be very generic...
- Lack-luster finale...
- Some visual glitches/issues...
Final Verdict
85/100
So... Dat Gnome...
Firetower trials falls into the same trap as Downtown Dine... very generic setting that is not very memorable...
The problem is circumvented, however, with the gnome... which has some problems...
The player is now expected to babysit the gnome for the rest of the campaign... which is automatically a turn off for many people... but because the campaign was balanced with the gnome in mind, anyone that chooses to leave him behind, are now gimping themselves...
There is also the problem of the gnome not being significant IMMEDIATELY... Some of the later powers are more than powerful, but as they are not what you start with, the gnome's power is not known at first, making the proposition to carry it a significantly less appealing one...
That is not too say the premise of the gnome isn't one the coolest thing I have seen in a long time... I absolutely love the mechanics of the gnome... having to set it down to use it, and the timers are well thought out... the powers themselves are useful on many occasions, and the reason why I succeeded in the first place... and the voice is adorable...
Because I took the gnome with me, I had a better than someone who would have not taken the gnome... but even speaking of it objectively... it is still a decent map... just be prepared to make a decision on the gnome, and live with it...
