Spec Ops: The Line had a closed multiplayer beta in 2010. This came two years before release and featured many differences, including HUD and art style changes. This build found its way into public hands in June 2023, allowing for it to be properly datamined and analyzed. There is a treasure trove of development info here, like a cut XM8, early multiplayer classes, and tons of unused audio!

This video explores the many beta models of the 2010 beta, some of which never made it into the final game. Even the content that survived those two years received texture and model overhauls, like the TAR-21 and M4A1 losing their holographic sights. You can catch glimpses of these changes in old trailers! Using umodel, I go over dozens of models scattered throughout the files of the 2010 beta here. No commentary is present in this video.
