While not a full review, Cynist takes a look at Gust's newest RPG, Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea on PS3. An enhanced "Plus" version is set to release for the PS Vita on March 3, 2016 in Japan.

This is the 3rd entry in the "Dusk" series, after "Atelier Ayesha ~The Alchemist of Dusk~", released in 2013, and "Atelier Escha & Logy ~Alchemists of the Dusk Sky~", released in 2014. As the 3rd game, "Atelier Shallie ~Alchemists of the Dusk Sea~" reflects upon user opinions and expectations thus far for this new release.

Taking after "Escha & Logy", great effort was placed in expressing the Dusk World, experimenting with new systems, graphics, and more. Also, the promises and wishes seen thus far in the Dusk World will be placed in the hands of the two heroines, Shallistera and Shallotte. The story of these two girls is both ephemeral and gentle, as they work to make their dreams come true!

• The main characters are both Shallie - Each heroine has her own unique story with different events and goals to enjoy. Will you try to save your homeland, or try to hit it big!?

• More exciting Synthesis! - Synthesis is the process of combining several individual items to create an entirely new one. Controls and depth have been improved since the last title, for a greatly powered up experience!

• Brand new assignment system! - Progression of goals in this game is done through "Life Tasks." The player's actions cause new goals to appear, making the game refreshing and fun no matter how one chooses to play.

• Fast paced battles! - This title's battles include lots of movement and swapping between multiple characters. The seemingly chaotic battles emphasize coordination and linking between each character.
