Swedish defence company Saab has received an order worth SEK 1.8 billion from the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of the Czech Republic for its Mobile Short Range Air Defence (MSHORAD) system. Deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2028 and 2030.

The agreement includes mobile firing units based on Saab’s RBS 70 NG missile system, equipped with Bolide missiles. These units will be integrated onto the MARS S-330 vehicle, which is produced by the Czech manufacturer SVOS.

The MSHORAD system will feature a command-and-control component developed in partnership between Saab and a Czech company. It will also incorporate a third-party radar solution already in service with the Czech Armed Forces.

“We are proud to continue supporting the Czech Armed Forces’ capability, who already operate our RBS 70 NG air defence system in its man-portable setup,” said Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s business area Dynamics. “Our MSHORAD solution complements this with a highly mobile configuration, providing additional protection for troops on the move.”
