As mentioned in the video, D.A.C.T.A. is based off of the droid minifigure from the LEGO Exploriens space theme from 1996. In LEGO Universe you could get a Specialty Kit called the Explorien Bot, modeled after the same figure; this is where I recently got the idea for D.A.C.T.A. from.
Also, his original name was going to be "D.A.C.A.", but since it sounded so close to "Dacta" (a LEGO theme designed for educational purposes) I decided to adjust the acronym.
