Now this Gunfort variant has all the goods to put up a real fight! Nearly eight times the VP of the basic Gunfort, and unlike the Alpha variant, Gunfort RT: Beta has high general defense stats. No laser defense however, so use that to your advantage. Like the Alpha, the Gunfort RT: Beta sports a giant laser cannon atop its main body along with all the other basic defenses, barrier too. It also comes equipped with a multi-missile launch system. The missiles launched from those tubes all have very good tracking and do significant damage to your Arsenal even when using Shield Shift. Consider it a threat on part with the laser cannon. So dodge as much as you can, and continue as each missile that you evade will continue to track you for a few more seconds. Depending on the situation you may have to spend time dodging a dozen missiles from one salvo. If your Arsenal is knocked down, it will be a worse situation. Especially if it decides to use its barrier when you're down.

Once again you'll want to target and destroy the cores as quickly as you can - for both laser as well as the the main body. The missile launch of the boss necessitates it stands perfectly still. Although risky, you must use this opportunity to the fullest as you get underneath it and destroy the cores under the main body. The missiles will continue to track you however so be wary.

Again, if you manage to knock off its laser, you can use it to severely damage or destroy the Gunfort. However, as I am using dual bazooka gun-arms, I am unable to take advantage of this. That being said, everything should be fine as long as you target the cores.

Destroying Gunfort RT: Beta will be particularly rewarding to players, as it can drop Blueprints for its missile launching system, the "Icarus" (huh, I guess I see the resemblance to wings) as well as the "Vanish Loa II" - a more powerful version of the Vanish Loa laser.
The Icarus is one of the best missile launchers in the game - extremely long lock-on range, excellent tracking, high-ammo count, highly damaging upon direct hit while also having high splash damage. On top of all this, it can lock-on to three targets at once and shoot a max salvo of 12 missiles. Only limitation of this weapon is the interval between launch and enemy impact, and also may not be useful in confining areas such as tunnels.
